These days I feel like I’m lost a lot. Currently working on a FnB business while consigning for a large firm. The political climate among the ground workers was poor, which had an impact on my crew as well. Additionally, they are always causing drama here and there, which makes my daily troubles list grow. Today, one of my employees quietly resigned, leaving me without anyone to support me. With everything going on right now, I’m feeling a little worn out and pointless.
Think about it: what particularly went wrong with your company, and are you able to make things right? Has the market landscape changed, or are there still opportunities? What adjustments will you make to the rebuild in order to learn from the past? However, would a job provide you with the knowledge and expertise you need to eventually relaunch your company? Create a list of the benefits and drawbacks, consult with reliable counsel, and follow your gut.
I like the prompts; in order to get a better idea, I will consider them all and write them down. Thank you very much.
The first question I often ask struggling business owners is, Do you have a business plan If you do, it’s your roadmap. Review it, update it, and adjust it as needed. If not, write one immediately.
Small businesses face constant challenges—staffing, cash flow, customer service, quality, and more. Your business plan should address some of these, while others are handled day-to-day.
I focused on quality, customer service, and company culture as foundational pillars. Challenges will arise, but with a clear plan, you can rebuild, address problems, and grow. Sometimes, stepping back to basics is necessary to move forward successfully.
Absolutely concur with what you said. Since this was my first business, I’ve learnt a lot of lessons along the way. That is why a company plan is crucial. Now, before I reconstruct it, I’m putting everything in writing. You have a lot of wisdom, and it would be great if I could learn from someone like you.
Feeling disoriented is common, particularly during changes. When I went from working for a big company to opening my shop, I had the same emotions. Think about the things you love and the things that are consistent with your ideals. Go deeper into something you are enthusiastic about. Finding your path may take some time, but that’s good. Never forget to rely on your network for assistance. You’ll work it out piece by piece.
We like to refer to that as work. It’s employment. It’s not meant for you to enjoy it. It’s rare for somebody to enjoy hard, arduous labour as much as I do. It’s not meant to be simple. That’s the reason it’s called work.
No one ever promises to call someone. I’m going to relax. I’m going to work, they say. You are there, wherever you go. That is a problem. You must make a decision for yourself. Actually, it’s not external. In severe cases, it might be external.
