Hi everyone, I’ve been talking to a few marketing agencies, and a lot of them are suggesting email marketing as part of their packages.
I personally don’t usually read random emails in my inbox, and I’m guessing Gmail’s spam filters are pretty good nowadays. So, is email marketing still relevant? I was surprised to hear people are still pushing it.
There’s a difference between cold emails and email marketing.
Cold emails are sent to random people, hoping to turn them into customers. Email marketing, on the other hand, is about sending emails to your existing customers to drive repeat business by offering helpful info, deals, etc.
Cold emails might work for B2B, but for regular consumers, it’s hit or miss. Email marketing, though, can be really effective.
Here’s what helped us with successful email campaigns:
Only send emails to people who have given consent, and always include an unsubscribe button.
Make sure your content is genuinely useful to your audience, not just generic marketing talk.
Keep your emails simple and optimized for mobile devices.
Include a clear call to action that links to your product at the end.
Set up your email domain properly (things like DKIM) to avoid emails going to spam.
Track analytics—like open rates and click rates—and adjust your strategy as needed.
Email marketing can be tricky, so it might be worth hiring a consultant to get you started. If you’re short on time, tools like Frizerly and Brevo can help automate the process.

Building an email list is actually one of the best ways to create a community around your business.
That’s true to some extent. I like getting emails from businesses I trust, but if I get one from someone I don’t know, I instantly block it and report it as spam.
