Best computer or laptop for small business?

For our little business, I’m looking to purchase a new laptop or desktop. In addition, we are going to start another company, and I will handle the bookkeeping. I intend to make use of the Quickbook program. Important to note: I will not be purchasing any Apple computers or Mac laptops because I detest them, even if I am now using one. Any knowledge is beneficial! I’ve started exploring online, and I have to admit that it is overwhelming—especially considering that I am not very tech-savvy and don’t know much of the jargon. Regards.

We provide IT support for small businesses, and our recommendation for a laptop is to focus on three key features:

  1. CPU: Stick with an Intel i5 or any Ryzen processor, regardless of sales advice.
  2. Memory: Ensure the laptop has 16GB of RAM.
  3. Storage: Choose any SSD with at least 250GB.

Other specs are less important, but Dell, HP, or Lenovo are good brands for easier repairs. In the U.S., a new laptop with these specs should cost around $500-600. You can also consider refurbished models to save around 40%.

Depending on the company. Obtain what you can afford to buy if you plan to use it for office jobs and bookkeeping. Should you engage in any technical activity, the response will vary.

It comes down to personal preference when it comes to laptop appearance and feel. It’s a good idea to try the models out in person because the ergonomics differ significantly between them.

To receive prompt repairs when necessary, I would purchase a business class device—I like the Dell Latitude—as well as on-site service coverage.

Examine the books for Lenovo, Dell Latitude, or HP Pro/Elite.

Technology-wise, everything you need for a pair of trousers should be bought in-store. Place the necessary orders. Acquire precisely what you require.
