When you're the CEO, CMO, CFO... and cleaning staff too

Trying to work with a demanding toddler on my lap seems to be a constant struggle. So CEO - chief entertainment officer

I own my catering business.

I’m the chef, owner, roller, sauce maker, grocery shopper, dishwasher, organizer, bookkeeper, payroll assistant, loading master.

And there are times I didn’t have a salary (not enough profit).

But there’s definitely pros and cons.

I spend more time with my family when it’s booming.

Don’t forget Doctor!

I routinely self-diagnose any weird pains in my body as something deadly, due to stress.

Hehe, cute post.

I love this, thanks for sharing the real side of small business and not just the ‘glam’

Haha, yeah that’s pretty spot on. I’m the accountant, office admin, pastry chef, HR department, manager, custodian, plumber, IT department, and furniture builder. It’s exhausting but one day, hopefully, it’ll be worth it. At least I can go at my own pace (sort of)

Same here. I’m running a very small podiatry practice and I’m the podiatrist doing the foot care, but also the marketing, the HR, the inventory control, the office cleaning, the tech support, and of course the bookkeeper.

The foot care is the easy part, haha.

You forgot the therapist part - you’re also the counselor for all your employees… You’re the one person who has all the answers to their personal problems. Sometimes it feels like you are the only person who can help them make life decisions. Great post!
