Running a small business can feel like juggling a lot at once! I run a small café, and keeping up with customer experience while attracting new people is a challenge. For marketing, I’ve tried social media campaigns and partnering with other local businesses—both worked well. On the other hand, expensive print ads didn’t give much return.

My website is built on WordPress, and it works well for showcasing my menu and trends. A strong website and social media presence really help. Listening to customer feedback is key too—it helps me know what’s working and what needs improvement.

What kind of marketing have you tried?

Combining local SEO with social media has been effective for my business. Instagram is great for giving people a behind-the-scenes look, which helps build loyalty.

WordPress is also my go-to. I’ve hand-coded some sections to make my brand stand out, and while it takes more time, it’s worth it.

Happy customers are your best marketing! Great service keeps people talking about you. What’s been working for you?

@Dallas
Absolutely! Happy customers can bring in more business than any ad. A referral program can help scale that by offering a small reward for every new customer referred.

I work in SEO copywriting for small businesses and startups. The rise of AI has slowed things down over the past year, but I’m still pushing forward. I market my services through job boards, social media, and cold emails. I also keep my WordPress site updated with the services I offer.

I partnered with a mid-sized podcaster in my industry, and it’s been a great marketing strategy for me.

Podcasts are super underrated! I read that Pieter Levels tripled his revenue just by being on Lex Friedman’s podcast—that’s crazy.

I’ve been working as a marketer and SEO expert for 8 years, and here’s what I usually recommend for small businesses:

  • Social Media: Platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and LinkedIn are crucial. Use both organic content and paid ads to engage people and build awareness.
  • Email Marketing: This is still one of the most cost-effective ways to reach customers. Small businesses can use targeted email campaigns to keep in touch with customers and maintain engagement. Tools: OptinMonster, ConvertKit, MailerLite.
  • Referral Marketing: This is highly effective, especially for small businesses in 2024. Offering rewards for referrals, like discounts or gift cards, works well. Tool: Referral Factory.
  • SEO: Optimizing your website is key for driving organic traffic. Focus on local SEO to attract nearby customers. Tools: Ahrefs, Semrush for keyword research.

For websites, I always recommend WordPress. There are tons of free tutorials online, and you can hire skilled freelancers on Upwork to help if needed.

Feel free to ask me anything, and I’ll get back to you quickly!
