Providing Branded Clothing for Employees: How Many Free Items?

Hi folks…

I’m opening a small business this fall, and I plan to require that all employees wear branded shirts during work hours. We’re excited to develop some great shirts and hoodies that we’ll sell, but we’ll also give them to employees for free.

For those of you who have done this, how many free items have you typically given your staff?

Are there any complications or considerations I should keep in mind when providing branded clothing?

We receive six polos, and with our annual uniform allowance, we can purchase more shirts or any other item for our outfit. Three days in a row, we work.

I am aware that my department may be an exception.
